Description
1983-84 Yvon Lambert Rochester Americans Game Worn Jersey
Lot #454

This home white knit gamer by Maska was worn by Yvon Lambert during the 1983-84 AHL season. Lambert began his NHL career in 1972-73 with the Montreal Canadiens, the team for whom he played during his first 9 years in the league. During that span, Lambert won 4 Stanley Cups and was an integral part of the late 1970’s dynasty team. This Left Winger netted 206 goals and 479 points in 683 career games. Having the depth of players such as Lambert was a big key to Montreal’s success. Yvon was twice a 30-goal man and averaged 25 goals a season for Les Habitants over a 7 year span. As the dynasty was dismantled Lambert found himself playing in Buffalo for his 10th and final NHL season. In that final year with the Sabres, the still capable Lambert scored 25 goals and 64 points in 77 games.

Lambert spent his final two years with the Sabres AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans. He netted 26 and 27 goals respectively as he put a wrap on a successful playing career. Offered here is one of Lambert’s home sweaters from his last AHL season. The game wear on this Maska knit is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, heavy inner pilling and no less than 3 dozen team-sewn repairs. Worthy of mention is the nameplate removal from the back, a commonality of the era.
