This road green heavy mesh gamer by CCM was worn by Sylvain Turgeon during the 1983-84 NHL season, his rookie year. Sylvain was the 2nd overall selection by Hartford in the 1983 NHL entry draft, taken ahead of LaFontaine, Yzerman, Barrasso and Neely. He spent 6 seasons with the Whalers where he was twice a 40-goal man. Sylvain spent another 6 years in the NHL with New Jersey, Montreal and Ottawa before heading to Europe to finish out his playing career. In 669 NHL games Turgeon scored nearly 500 points.
The game wear on this rookie sweater is solid consisting of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, inner pilling and some team-sewn repair work. The sleeves of this gamer have been custom shortened while an additional fight strap has also been added. Fine looking vintage representation bearing the long since defunct pucky Whales.
