Description
1983-84 Mike Veisor Winnipeg Jets Game Worn Jersey
Lot #56
This home white mesh gamer by CCM and Sandow SK was worn by Mike Veisor during the 1983-84 NHL season. The Chicago Blackhawks selected Veisor in the 3rd round of the 1972 NHL Amateur Draft. In 1973-74, Mike made his NHL debut and thereby became the 2nd player of Jewish heritage to play in the NHL, a year behind fellow goalie Ross Brooks. Veisor spent 6 seasons in Chicago where he served as Tony Esposito’s backup. In 1980-81, he became a member of the Hartford Whalers and spent parts of 4 seasons with the club. Veisor’s final NHL stop came with the Winnipeg Jets in 1983-84.

The game wear on this vintage sweater consists of stick and puck marks, paint transfer, staining on the lower back and pilling. Also worthy of mention is an existing cut away of the jersey spanning from the hem to the base of the left shoulder. We have not been able to determine the causation, as Mike played in a mere 8 regular season games for the Jets and records of his time in Winnipeg is sparse. The Jets wore these large holed mesh sweaters with the jumbo CCM on the rear hem for a single season and this one-year style remains a favorite among many Winnipeg collectors. A nice vintage 30-year old goalie gamer worn by the 2nd Jewish player in NHL history during his last NHL season.
