1983-84 Mike Eaves & 1982-83 Guy Chouinard Calgary Flames Game Worn Jersey
Lot #62

This road red mesh gamer by Sandow SK was worn by Mike Eaves during the 1983-84 NHL season. It is also likely that Guy Chouinard wore this sweater during the 1982-83 NHL season. The St. Louis Blues selected Eaves in the 7th round of the 1976 NHL Amateur Draft. After playing his college hockey at the University of Wisconsin, this Denver, CO native made his NHL debut in 1979-80 with the Minnesota North Stars. Eaves spent five seasons with Minnesota before joining the Calgary Flames in 1983-84. Mike spent the next three seasons with Calgary before retiring following the Flames run to the 1986 Stanley Cup Finals. Following his playing days, Mike went into the coaching profession and is best known for becoming the long-time Head Coach of the University of Wisconsin where he served for 14 seasons.

The Atlanta Flames selected Chouinard in the 2nd round of the 1974 NHL Amateur Draft. He began his NHL career with Atlanta in 1974-75 and played 9 seasons for the Flames franchise, six in Atlanta and three in Calgary. Guy completed his career following his 10th year in the league, spent with the St. Louis Blues. In 578 career games, this winger scored 205 goals and 575 points. In 1978-79, he posted career best totals in goals with 50, which was good for 4th league wide and points with 107, which placed him 6th in scoring that season.

The game wear on this sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, fine inner pilling and several team-sewn repairs. A nice example likely worn by the 50-goal scoring Chouinard as well as by Mike Eaves during his first season with the Flames.
