This home white mesh gamer by Cosby was worn by Mike Blaisdell during the 1983-84 CHL season. The Detroit Red Wings selected Blaisdell in the 1st round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. After laying his college hockey at the University of Wisconsin, Blaisdell began his NHL career with the Wings in 1980-81. After 3 seasons in Detroit, Mike joined the New York Rangers for a couple of years, spent a couple of seasons with the Penguins and then a couple more with Toronto before retiring from the NHL and pursuing his career across the pond where he played for another decade.
Blaisdell wore this sweater during his first season as a member of the New York Rangers organization, splitting time between New York and Tulsa that season. The game wear on this size 54 sweater is tremendous and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, washed out bloodstains, inner pilling and team-sewn repair work. The collar of this gamer has been customized while an old school coin and lace fight strap resides inside, coin intact. Also worthy of mention is evidence of another plate being on this jersey prior to the current one. The Cosby wash and size tagging remains perfectly stitched to the inside collar. A terrific old-school CHL gamer that sports the Rangers red, white and blue colors.
