1983-84 Marc Crawford Vancouver Canucks Game Worn Jersey Darcy Rota Alumni
Lot #93

This home gold knit gamer by Maska was worn by Mark Crawford during the 1983-84 NHL season. The jersey was later worn by Darcy Rota during a Vancouver Canucks Alumni game. The Vancouver Canucks selected Crawford in the 4th round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. Crawford made his NHL debut in 1981-82 with the beloved Vancouver Canucks squad that trekked to the Stanley Cup Finals. Crawford spent his entire 6-year NHL career with the Canucks spanning 1981-82 through 1986-87. Following his playing days, Crawford joined the coaching ranks. He was the recipient of the Jack Adams Award as the Head Coach of the Quebec Nordiques in 1994-95 and is best known for leading the Colorado Avalanche to their first Stanley Cup Championship a year later in 1995-96.

The game wear on this heavy knit sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, un-repaired holes, a fight strap that has lost the battle to salt and rust and fine inner pilling. This jersey was sent to the Canucks Alumni Team and underwent a name and number change from 28 to 18 for use by Darcy Rota, consistent with the majority of Vancouver sweaters from the Maska era. This is the first Crawford game worn sweater we’ve had the pleasure to offer. A nice fresh to the hobby example worn by this Jack Adams Award and Stanley Cup winning Head Coach.
