Description
1983-84 Ken Berry Edmonton Oilers Game Worn Jersey - Oilers 1st Stanley Cup Season
Lot #104

This home white mesh gamer by Nike was worn by Ken Berry during the 1983-84 NHL season. The Vancouver Canucks selected Berry in the 6th round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. Berry played his college hockey at the University of Denver. He also spent a season with Team Canada and represented them in the 1980 Olympics at Lake Placid where he scored 4 Goals in 6 games for the Canadian National Team. Berry began his NHL career with the 1981-82 Edmonton Oilers, representing them again in 1983-84, the Oilers first Stanley Cup winning season. He returned to the Canadian National Team in 1985-86 and spent 3 more years skating for his country that included the 1988 Olympics. Berry then rejoined the NHL, spending parts of 2 years with the Vancouver Canucks.

The sleeves on this gamer have been custom shortened for Berry by the team. The game wear on this sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, plenty of board paint transfer from the Northlands Coliseum, un-repaired burn holes, inner pilling and a sizable material backed team-sewn repair on the belly. This fresh customized example hails from the coveted set of jerseys worn during the Edmonton Oilers first ever Stanley Cup winning season.
