This road blue mesh gamer was worn by John Goodwin during the 1983-84 AHL season. This Scarborough native played his junior hockey with the Soo before making his professional debut in 1981-82 in the AHL with Nova Scotia. Goodwin played for 6 seasons across the AHL and IHL averaging nearly a point per game throughout his career. In 1980-81 he captured the OHA Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy.
The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, inner pilling and a handful of team-sewn repairs. The original double skate lace style fight strap remains perfectly sewn to the inner verso. A nice vintage offering from Goodwin’s only season in New Haven.
