This home white dureen gamer was worn by Jack Brownschidle during the 1983-84 NHL season. The St. Louis Blues selected Brownschidle in the 6th round of the 1975 NHL Amateur Draft. After graduating from Notre Dame in 1977, this Buffalo, NY native began his NHL career with the Blues in 1977-78. He remained with St. Louis for 7 seasons until a deadline deal in 1984 sent him to the Hartford Whalers. Brownschidle spent 3 seasons playing for Hartford, his last NHL season was 1985-86.
The game wear on this vintage dureen is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, fine exterior pilling and heavy areas of inner pilling. A pair of original fight straps are sewn to the inside of this more than three decade old gamer. Removed from the verso and lost to history is the shoulder length nameplate. We presume that this was Jack’s last jersey with the Blues and that the team stripped the plate after his trade to Hartford. Another nice feature is the now retired player number 16, in honor of Blues legend Brett Hull.
