This road blue knit gamer by Maska was worn by Barry Tabobondung during the 1983-84 ACHL season. The Philadelphia Flyers selected Tabobodung in the 3rd round of the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. After a couple of seasons in the OHL, Barry joined the Flyers organization and played for the Maine Mariners for a couple of years. After a brief jaunt with Peoria in the IHL, Tabobondung spent his next and final 4 seasons with Erie. He played for the Golden Blades of the ACHL for 3 years, retired and returned 4 years later where he played briefly in the ECHL with the Erie Panthers. Tabobondung was the 1984-85 ACHL MVP, thanks to his 12 goals and 79 points in 64 games that year.
Offered here is Tabobondung’s road sweater from his first season with Erie. The game wear on this sweater is tremendous and consists of stick and slash marks, loads of board burns and board paint transfer, a number of un-repaired burn holes and small runs, heavy inner pilling and a large patched blowout team-sewn repair. A custom fight strap can be found on the inside back of this sweater. A stunning vintage Golden Blades gamer worn by the ACHL’s Most Valuable Player in 1984-85!
