Description
1982 Robert Picard Montreal Canadiens Game Worn Jersey
Lot #45
This home white knit gamer by Maska was worn by Robert Picard during the 1982 NHL season. The Washington Capitals made Picard the 3rd overall pick in the 1977 NHL Amateur Draft. This Montreal native made his NHL debut in 1977-78 with Washington where he played for three seasons. This defenseman went on to play for the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Montreal Canadiens, the Winnipeg Jets, the Quebec Nordiques and finally the Detroit Red Wings. Over the course of a 13-year NHL career, Picard had a 20-Goal season, amassed in excess of 1000 career PIMS and played in two NHL All Star Games.

The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer from the Montreal Forum, un-repaired burn holes, material pulls, heavy inner pilling and more than a handful of team-sewn repairs. Removed from the upper verso and lost to history is the player nameplate. A well-worn example by this two-time NHL All Star during his time with Les Habitants.
