Description
1982-83 Jamie Macoun Calgary Flames Game Worn Jersey Rookie
Lot #111

This road red mesh and knit combo by Sandow SK was worn by Jamie Macoun during the 1982-83 NHL season, his rookie year. Macoun played his college hockey at Ohio State University before beginning his NHL career with the Calgary Flames in 1982-83. After 9 seasons in Calgary, Macoun joined the Maple Leafs during the 1991-92 campaign and took part in the teams deep and exciting playoff runs the following couple of springs. After parts of 7 seasons in Toronto, the Detroit Red Wings dealt for Macoun at the deadline in 1997-98, trying to bolster their blueline for another run at the Stanley Cup. Jamie did in fact win a Stanley Cup with Detroit that spring, the 2nd of his career with the first coming in Calgary in 1989. Following the 1998-99 season, Macoun announced his retirement from the sport after 16 years and 1128 games of service.

The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and plenty of pilling both inside and out. Jamie played in just 22 regular season and 9 playoff games while wearing this sweater during road games in his rookie season. Macoun would eventually go on to serve as the Flames Team Captain later during his tenure and is fondly remembered for being an anchor on their defense that helped Calgary win their first Stanley Cup. A beautiful well-worn rookie sweater that is fresh to the hobby.
