GAMEWORNAUCTIONS.NET is pleased to bring this exciting collection of game worn enforcers, tough guys and instigators to the hobby exclusively thru our Fall 2018 Auction. These 11 NHL and minor league game worn jerseys have been held in a private collection since being purchased beginning nearly 20 years ago and have been out of hobby circulation ever since. Included in this group of legendary tough guys are some extremely difficult to find players and styles, most which are being offered at auction for the first time!

This Sunday Gold alternate mesh gamer by Sandow SK was worn by Gary Rissling during the 1982-83 NHL season. This 5’9” 175 lb. sparkplug is one of the most beloved enforcers of his era. Rissling made his NHL debut with the Washington Capitals in 1978-79 where he played for 2 seasons before joining the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1980-81. Rissling spent the remaining 5 years of his NHL career with the Penguins. In 221 NHL games played Rissling amassed 1008 PIMS! During his illustrious minor league career, Rissling played in 461 games and accumulated an astounding 2245 PIMS, which when combined with his NHL totals tally up to an incredible 3253 PIMS!

The game wear on this size XL Sunday Gold alternate consists of stick marks, board burns, un-repaired holes, inner pilling and fight abuse, collar pilling and a torn and subsequently team-sewn repaired front collar extending downward into the mesh of this sweater. On the front crest is a faded signature in Rissling’s own hand. Penguins’ fans won’t soon forget the incredible fisticuffs that Rissling partook in or the comedic commercials that he performed promotionally for the hometown team. Rissling’s gamers have been an extremely tough get over the years with this being the first we’ve ever had the pleasure to offer. An underrated gem of one of hockey’s most beloved enforcers that had remained out of hobby circulation for quite some time and will appeal to both the Penguins collectors and fight fans alike!
