Description
1982-83 Blair Chapman St. Louis Blues Game Worn Jersey
Lot #64

This road blue dureen gamer by Sandow SK was worn by Blair Chapman during the 1982-83 NHL season. The Pittsburgh Penguins selected Chapman with the 2nd overall pick in the 1976 NHL Amateur Draft. At the same time, the Edmonton Oilers made Chapman the 1st overall selection in the 1976 WHA Amateur Draft. Blair chose to pursue his career in the NHL and he made his NHL debut with the Penguins in 1976-77. Chapman spent 3 years in Pittsburgh before being dealt to the St. Louis Blues early on in the 1979-80 campaign. Chapman finished his 7-year NHL career by spending 4 seasons in St. Louis. While with the Blues, Blair was plagued by injuries but did manage to register 25 and 20 goals respectively during his first two injury shortened seasons with St. Louis.

The game wear on this vintage dureen is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, stitch pops, fine inner pilling and a couple of handfuls of team-sewn repairs. This is the first Chapman gamer we’ve ever had the pleasure to offer; it’s been a notably tough get for collectors through the years. A terrific well-worn all-original offering that is completely fresh to the block.
