This home white knit gamer by Maska was worn by Larry Robinson circa the 1981-82 and/or 1982-83 NHL seasons. The Montreal Canadiens selected Robinson in the 1st round of the 1971 NHL Amateur Draft. This Winchester native made his NHL debut in 1972-73 with the Canadiens where he spent the first 17 years of a 20-year NHL career. Robinson won an incredible 7 Stanley Cups with the Canadiens. Before finishing up his career alongside Wayne Gretzky in Los Angeles. Larry was the 1978 Conn Smythe Trophy winner as playoff MVP and captured two Norris Trophies as the NHL’s best defenseman. Robinson was 6-times a 1st or 2nd Team NHL All Star on defense and played in 10 NHL All Star games.

On the international stage, Robinson represented Team Canada in four different Canada Cups, while also taking part in those memorable New Year’s Eve Super Series contests against the Soviets during the Cold War era. He is considered one of the game’s all-time greats and was so recognized in the now revered ‘The Hockey News’ book that ranked the 50 greatest players in NHL history. Larry was honored as the 24th greatest player in NHL history in that publication. Robinson added another Cup to his trophy case as he coached the New Jersey Devils to a Championship in 2000. In 1384 games played, Larry scored 208 goals and added 750 assists for a total of 958 points. His remarkable career also saw him partake in 227 playoff games where he added another 144 points.

The game wear on this size 54 sweater is tremendous and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, plenty of board paint transfer from the Forum in Montreal, stitch pops, material pulls, washed out bloodstains, heavy inner pilling and in excess of 100 team-sewn repairs! A custom garter style fight strap has been added to the inner verso while the player nameplate has been lost to history. This battered fresh to the hobby offering was worn by the Hall of Famer while still at the height of his powers and comes directly from the personal collection of former Montreal Canadiens assistant trainer John Shipman and is accompanied by his signed LOA, choice!
