1981-82 James Patrick University of North Dakota Game Worn Jersey - National Championship Season
Lot #259
This road green mesh gamer by Norcon was worn by James Patrick during the 1981-82 WCHA season. The New York Rangers selected Patrick with the 9th overall pick in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. After playing his college hockey at the University of North Dakota, Patrick began his NHL career with the Rangers, an era that spanned 1983-84 thru the early part of the 1993-94 season. James next suited up briefly for the Whalers before a deal sent him to Calgary where he played for the next 5 years. His final stop was Buffalo, where Patrick spent 6 seasons. All told this defenseman spent 21 years roaming the NHL’s bluelines. During his tenure with the Rangers, Patrick thrilled the Garden faithful with his adept skills from the point on the power play, as he rung up double-digit goal totals in 7 consecutive seasons. His career best of 71 points came in the 1991-92 campaign. Patrick also represented Team Canada in the 1984 Olympics and during the thrilling 1987 Canada Cup.

The game wear on this size XL sweater consists of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, fine inner pilling and some team-sewn repair work. Patrick starred on the Fighting Sioux blueline before beginning his All Star NHL career. As a freshman, Patrick helped the Fighting Sioux to a National Championship and was named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team. He also achieved 2nd Team All-WCHA honors during his rookie season. Patrick went on to earn First Team All-American and captured All-WCHA First Team honors in 1982-83, his final season at UND. This outstanding offering marked the beginning of this All Star defenseman’s more than two-decade long career and was worn during Patrick’s freshman season as the Fighting Sioux went onto the National Championship, choice!
