1981-82 Gary Conn ACHL Baltimore Skipjacks & 1979-81 EHL Baltimore Clippers Game Worn Jersey
Lot #548
This road green mesh gamer by Stall & Dean was worn by Gary Conn during the 1981-82 ACHL season after having been worn by an unknown player during the 1979-81 EHL seasons with the Baltimore Clippers. This Marblehead, MA native played his college hockey at the University of Maine where he starred before beginning his pro career in 1981-82 with the Baltimore Skipjacks. Gary’s playing career was brief, lasting a mere 2 years in the ACHL. During that time he represented Baltimore, Fitchburg, Hampton Road, Erie and Virginia. In 54 games played over 2 seasons, Conn scored 29 goals and 59 points. Conn spent the majority of his professional career wearing the Skipjacks colors. He played in 36 regular season games and scored 23 goals and 46 points and further added another 7 goals and 11 points in 7 playoff games that spring, while wearing this sweater during road contests.

Sewn into the collar of this gamer are the Stall & Dean, wash, size and year tagging. This stunning jersey features the team colors of the Minnesota North Stars who were coming off of their first ever Stanley Cup Finals appearance the prior spring. The game wear on this size 52 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, plenty of colorful board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, heavy inner pilling and by our count 45 team-sewn repairs. The sewn-on crest and numbers are certainly a treat while a nameplate removal is worthy of mention. Prior to being worn in the ACHL, this example was worn by the Baltimore Clippers of the EHL over the course of two seasons spanning 1979-81. A very tough style that should appeal to any collector of vintage minor league sweaters, especially those with an emphasis on Baltimore and or Minnesota North Stars themes.
