This road orange mesh and knit gamer by Sand-Knit was worn by Alfie Turcotte while skating for the Detroit Compuware Ambassadors during the 1981-82 season. The Montreal Canadiens selected Turcotte in the 1st round of the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. This Gary, IN native won a Memorial Cup with the Winter Hawks before making his NHL debut in 1983-84 with the Canadiens. Alfie spent three seasons with Montreal before playing for a couple of years with the Winnipeg Jets and another couple with the Washington Capitals. Turcotte also enjoyed a highly successful career in the AHL and then went on to spend time overseas where he starred in Europe. On the international scene, Turcotte represented Team USA in the World Juniors and the World Championships.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the Captain’s “C”. The game wear on this size 44 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and trauma and inner pilling. Turcotte played alongside Pat Lafontaine with the Compuware Ambassadors as the Michigan youngsters’ wreaked havoc on the opposition. Turcotte was magnificent and scored 131 goals and added 152 assists for 293 points in 93 games played while wearing this jersey during road games! A terrific well-worn offering that sports the coveted letter of honor from a season for the ages.
