Description
1980's Stephane Richer Canadiens Game Worn Jersey
Lot #85

This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Stephane Richer circa the 1980’s. Richer first joined the Canadiens back in 1984-85 where his career began with a 1-game call up. He would spend his first 7 seasons in the league with Les Habitants and as a rookie helped lead them to the Stanley Cup in 1986. From Montreal, Stephane joined the New Jersey Devils where he played for 5 years and won another Stanley Cup. Following the 1995-96 season, Richer returned to Montreal for another couple of years before joining the Lightning, Blues, Penguins and Devils to finish his career. Richer was twice a 50-goal man as a member of Montreal, accomplishing the feat in 1987-88 and 1989-90, an All Star season for this Left Winger. In 1054 career games Stephane netted 421 goals and 819 points.

The game wear on this sweater is solid despite the team’s best dry-cleaning efforts. There are stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, washed out bloodstains, inner pilling and some traditional bullet style team-sewn repair work. Nice offering from the era when Montreal ruled the East and Richer seemingly scored at will.
