Description
1980-82 Doug Crossman Chicago Blackhawks Game Worn Jersey - Rookie
Lot #348

This home white dureen gamer by Gunzo’s and Coane was worn by Doug Crosman during the 1980-82 NHL seasons. The Chicago Blackhawks selected Crossman in the 6th round of the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. Crossman entered the NHL in 1980 with Chicago where he played for 3 years before joining the Philadelphia Flyers. He would spend 5 seasons in Philly where he went to 2 Stanley Cup Finals only to fall to the Oilers dynasty both times. After his time in Philadelphia, Doug played for the Kings, Islanders, Whalers, Red Wings, Lightning and Blues. All told he spent 14 seasons in the NHL, which encompassed 914 games and 464 points.

Crossman spent 70 games with the AHL’s New Brunswick Hawks in 1980-81, and appeared in only 9 games after being called up by Chicago for his first taste of the NHL. Doug’s next and final 2 seasons with the Hawks saw him play in 70 and 80 games respectively, where from his position on the blueline he scored double digit goals both years and finished with an impressive 40 and 53 points respectively.

Offered here is Crossman’s rookie sweater, worn during his first and second NHL seasons. Sewn into the collar of this gamer is the Gunzo’s and Coane tagging. The game wear on this heavyweight dureen consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. On the inside is a custom fight strap. The old school Chief Indian Head crest screams old time hockey and will please any vintage enthusiast in search of the best uniform in all of sports.
