1980-81 Perry Miller Adirondack Red Wings Game Jersey Calder Cup Season
Lot #183
This home white mesh gamer by Olympic Sporting Goods was issued to Perry Miller during the 1980-81 AHL Calder Cup winning season. This undrafted Winnipeg native Miller made his WHA debut in 1974-75 with the hometown Winnipeg Jets where he played for parts of two years before joining the Minnesota Fighting Saints. Following a partial season in Minnesota, Miller was brought back to Winnipeg for the 1976-77 season. Following the 1977 Avco Cup Finals, Perry jumped to the NHL and played for the next four seasons with the Detroit Red Wings. Miller was a talented defenseman and a noted tough guy who scored 91 points and added 309 PIMS in 201 WHA games. Perry went on to add another 387 PIMS in his final 217 games in the NHL.

Sewn into the collar of this jersey is the wash size and year tag. Sewn into the hem is the Olympic manufacturers tag. Miller played in a total of four games for Adirondack in 1980-81, their first-ever Calder Cup Championship season and as such game use is tough to identify on this size 48 sweater. Sewn to the inner verso is the original garter style fight strap. A nice memento dating to the Adirondack Red Wings improbable first Championship season.
