1980-81 Ken Solheim North Stars Game Worn Jersey - Rookie Jersey
Lot #73

This road green heavy mesh gamer by Steichens was worn by Ken Solheim during the 1980-81 NHL season, his rookie year in the league. Solheim was a 2nd round draft choice by Chicago in 1980 and played for the Blackhawks for 5 games prior to coming to Minnesota later that same season. Solheim was part of that beloved North Stars club who made a run all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1981 before falling to the New York Islanders dynasty. Ken’s NHL career spanned 5 seasons. He played for Chicago, Minnesota, Detroit and Edmonton.

Sewn in the collar of this heavy mesh gamer is the Steichen’s, wash, year and size tagging. The game use is light consisting of stick marks on the body and sleeves and pilling. Evidence of a nameplate change suggests that this gamer was likely worn by Joe Contini earlier that same season. Contini donned the player number 12 and played in 1 NHL game for Minnesota in 1980-81.
