Marini made his NHL debut with New York in 1978-79. Marini played parts of 3 seasons with the Islanders as the team marched to Stanley Cup glory in his last two of those years. In fact, Hector netted 3 goals and added 6 assists for 9 points to go along with 14 PIMS in 9 games during the 1981 Stanley Cup Playoffs. In 1982, the Islanders dealt Marini to the New Jersey Devils where he became an inaugural member of the squad and played the remaining 2 years of his NHL career.
The game wear on this size Extra-Large sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer from the boards at the Nassau Coliseum, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. Affixed to the back player number is a custom garter style fight strap with a good tape wrap for this tough guy. A relatively tough find for Islanders Stanley Cup era collectors as Marini appeared in merely 45 games with the team.
