Description
1980-81 Bernie Gallant Rochester Americans Game Worn Jersey Rookie
Lot #431
This home white mesh gamer by Stall & Dean was worn by Bernie Gallant during the 1980-81 AHL season, his rookie year. This Montreal native made his minor-pro debut in 1980-81 with the Rochester Americans. Bernie joined the IHL’s Flint Generals the following season and other than a few games with the Amerks in 1982-83, he played the remainder of his career in the IHL with the Generals. Gallant’s best statistical season came with Flint in 1983-84 when he scored 50 Goals and 103 Points.

Sewn into the collar of this gamer is the manufacturers, size, wash and year tagging. The game wear on this size 50 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, inner pilling and a handful of team-sewn repairs. The 1980-81 season saw first year Head Coach Mike Keenan take the reins. It would be merely three years until Keenan guided Rochester to a Calder Cup Championship. This fresh to the hobby example was purchased by our consignor directly from the team 40 years ago. This truly stunning style has always been coveted by Amerks collectors, and this gamer will no doubt please. A beautiful all-original example that is making its hobby debut.
