Description
1979-80 Tim Young Minnesota North Stars Game Worn Jersey
Lot #440
This home white mesh gamer by Steichens was worn by Tim Young during the 1979-80 NHL season. Young was drafted by the New England Whalers in the 1st round of the 1974 WHA Amateur Draft and then by the Los Angeles Kings in the 1st round of the 1975 NHL Amateur Draft. This highly touted youngster made his NHL debut with the Minnesota North Stars in 1975-76 and remained with the club thru the 1982-83 season. Tim finished up his career with a year each in Winnipeg and Philadelphia. This winger scored 51 points to lead the team in scoring in just 63 games as a rookie and followed that up in his sophomore year with a career high point total of 95, good for 5th in the entire NHL and earning him an NHL All Star game appearance. Tim would also go on to play an integral role in helping Minnesota to their first ever Stanley Cup Finals appearance in 1981. In 1979 this gifted forward became only the 2nd player in NHL history to score 5-goals in a game on 5 shots, doing so against the Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

Sewn into the collar of this gamer are the Steichens, wash, size and year tagging. The game wear on this sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, washed out bloodstains, heavy inner pilling and a handful of team-sewn repairs.
