Description
1979-80 Rich LeDuc Nordiques Game Worn Jersey - First year NHL
Lot #79

This road blue mesh gamer by Sandow was worn by Rich Leduc during the 1979-80 NHL season, the first for the Nordiques in the NHL. LeDuc began his NHL career with the Boston Bruins in 1972-73 and spent parts of 2 seasons with the club. Next up was the WHA, where Rich played for the Cleveland Crusaders, the Cincinnati Stingers, the Indianapolis Racers and the Quebec Nordiques. He spent 5 seasons in the WHA before moving with the Nords to the NHL where he played for two more years. LeDuc’s finest season came with the Stingers in 1976-77 as he tallied 52 goals and 107 points. In 394 WHA games, LeDuc scored 390 points and was continually among his team’s scoring leaders.

The game wear on this sweater is solid with stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, inner pilling and in excess of half a dozen team-sewn repairs. Significant reinforcement exists to the front collar, which was likely traumatized during an on-ice scrum. Nice example from the club’s 1st year in the league.
