This road blue knit gamer by Maska was first worn by Curt Ridley during the 1979-80 NHL season. The jersey was later recycled to the 1983 preseason and worn again by enforcer Dave Hutchison. The Boston Bruins selected Ridley in the 2nd round of the 1971 NHL Amateur Draft. This Winnipeg native made his NHL debut in 1974-75 with the New York Rangers where he played for one season. Curt then spent the next four years with the Vancouver Canucks before a couple of final seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Los Angeles Kings selected Hutchison in the 3rd round of the 1972 NHL Amateur Draft. This London, Ontario native made his WHA debut during the Rebel League’s inaugural season with the Philadelphia Blazers. Dave moved with the franchise to Vancouver the following year, his last in the WHA. Hutchison made his NHL debut in 1974-75 with the LA Kings where he played for four seasons before joining the Toronto Maple Leafs. This enforcer also represented the Chicago Blackhawks and New Jersey Devils prior to a final stint in 1983-84 with Toronto before retiring. Dave wound up with three seasons of better than 200 PIMS and ended his NHL career with a resounding 1550 PIMS in 584 games played.
The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick, slash and puck marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, washed out bloodstains, fine inner pilling and a dozen and a half team-sewn repairs that are scattered about the body and sleeves of this gamer. The fight strap has been customized and reinforced for Hutchison by the team. Beloved short-lived style featuring the tiny double Maska logos and worn by Goalie Curt Ridley as well as enforcer Dave Hutchison.
