1979-80 Al Mac Adam North Stars Game Worn Jersey
Lot #49

This road green heavy mesh gamer by Steichens was worn by Al MacAdam during the 1979-80 NHL season. MacAdam began his career with the Flyers during the 1973-74 season, which saw them win the Stanley Cup. In the off season he was dealt to California in exchange for Reggie Leach.

Al played 2 years in California and 2 more in Cleveland before joining the North Stars where he would spend 6 years. He called it a career one season later after a full slate of games in the Vancover Canucks colors. MacAdam was the 1980 recipient of the Bill Masterton Trophy for best exemplifying the qualities of perserverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey. He also partook in the 1976 and 1977 NHL All Star game.

MacAdam’s finest season came while wearing this very sweater. The 1979-80 season saw Al win the Masterton Trophy while lighting the lamp 42 times and adding 51 assists for a total of 93 points. Sewn to the collar of this gamer is the Steichens, wash and year tagging. The game wear is solid and consists of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, inner pilling and approximately 20 team-sewn repairs. This is a tremendous defunct example from the old green and gold era.
