This road green mesh gamer by Steichens was worn by Tom Younghans during the 1978-79 NHL season. After playing college hockey for the University of Minnesota, this St. Paul native began his NHL career with the hometown North Stars in 1976-77. During Tom’s 6th year in the league, he was traded by the North Stars to the Rangers and played out his final NHL season as a member of New York. On the international stage, Younghans represented Team USA in the World Championships as well as the 1981 Canada Cup.
Sewn into the collar of this gamer are the Steichens, size, year and wash tagging. The game wear on this size 48 sweater is solid and consists of stick marks, board burns, plenty of colorful board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, inner pilling and a couple dozen team-sewn repairs! A terrific well-worn vintage offering from this long defunct franchise.
