1978-79 Gary Doak Bruins Game Worn Jersey - Photo Matched
Lot #32

This road black knit and mesh gamer by Stall & Dean was worn by Gary Doak during the 1978-79 NHL season. Doak enjoyed a 16-year NHL career that spanned 4 cities. Gary spent all or part of 14 of those seasons wearing the Bruins black and gold and was a member of the beloved 1970 Stanley Cup winning team. During his career as a defenseman, Gary had the privilege of playing alongside two of the finest the game has known, Bobby Orr and Brad Park.

The game use on this Stall and Dean is solid consisting of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, both inner and outer pilling and about a dozen team-sewn repairs. Sewn into the collar is the manufacturers, size, wash and year tagging. Shown above is a photo-match of Doak wearing this exact sweater. The Stall & Dean era coincided with the coaching reign of fan favorite Don Cherry. This was a cherished time in Bruins history. These teams are remembered by fans that experienced the highs and lows of deep playoff runs, which included back to back Finals appearances followed by a Semi-Finals elimination, all of which came at the hands of the Montreal Canadiens dynasty.
