1976 Olympics Polish National Team Warm-Up Suit
Lot #48

This beautiful warm-up suit originates from the personal collection of NHL defenseman Dick Lamby. Lamby, a native of Auburn, MA played his collegiate hockey with Boston University where he led his team to the NCAA title in 1978, assisting on 3 goals in the Championship game. He represented the US National Team in 1976 and played for Team USA in the 1976 Olympics before playing for 3 seasons in the NHL with the St. Louis Blues. According to Mr. Lamby, he acquired this Warm Up Suit directly from one of the Polish players while playing for Team USA at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, Austria.

This beautiful red and white warm-up suit was worn by an unknown player of the Polish National Team at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, Austria. Sewn to the left breast of this jacket is the Polish National Team’s Olympic Logo. The sweatpants feature skate stirrups that remain in perfect form. Some age staining is worth noting on the jacket although no attempt at having it cleaned has been undertaken to our knowledge. To date, we have never seen another warm-up suit of this style in the hobby. This stunning combo is accompanied by incredible provenance, having been acquired directly from one of the Polish players by former NHL defenseman Dick Lamby at the 1976 Olympics in Innsbruck, Austria. A beautiful and rare offering that was worn by an unknown player for the Polish National Team during the 1976 Olympics.
