1976-77 Wilf Paiement Colorado Rockies Game Worn Jersey - Inaugural Season - Career Best 41-Goal Season – Wilf Paiement Letter
Lot #43

This jersey was part of Wilf Paiement’s personal collection and will be accompanied by a letter signed by Mr. Paiement.

This road blue mesh gamer by Champion was worn by Wilf Paiement during the 1976-77 NHL season, the Rockies inaugural year. The Kansas City Scouts selected Paiement with the 2nd overall pick in the 1974 NHL Amateur Draft. Paiement made his NHL debut with the Scouts in 1974-75. He remained with the franchise thru their transfer to Colorado, spending 2 seasons in KC and parts another 3 with the Rockies. Wilf was dealt to Toronto in 1979-80 in exchange for Hall of Famer Lanny McDonald. Following parts of 3 seasons with the Maple Leafs, Wilf spent the next 5 years as a member of the Quebec Nordiques before wrapping up his career in New York, Buffalo and Pittsburgh. Paiement was a 3-time NHL All Star, having represented both Kansas City and Colorado in the annual classic. Known for both his goal scoring ability and a nasty streak, Wilf scored 356 goals and 814 points to go along with 1757 PIMs in just 946 games played.

The game wear on this size 48 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, stitch pops and inner pilling. Custom fight straps can be found inside just beneath the back player number. Paiement led the Rockies with 41 goals, 40 assists and 81 points during their inaugural season and earned a spot in the 1977 NHL All Star Game thanks to his herculean efforts on a dismal club. Worn during the last year of the NHL’s pre-mandated name on back era, these inaugural season Rockies gamers have become increasingly difficult to find. This wonderful well-worn example originated directly from Mr. Paiement’s personal collection and is ready to take its place front and center in any defunct collection of gamers!
