1976-77 Vladimir Nejedly Sparta Praha Game Worn Jersey
Lot #72

This jersey originates from the personal collection of NHL defenseman Dick Lamby. Lamby, a native of Auburn, MA played his collegiate hockey with Boston University where he led his team to the NCAA title in 1978, assisting on 3 goals in the Championship game. He represented the US National Team in 1976 and played for Team USA in the 1976 Olympics before playing for 3 seasons in the NHL with the St. Louis Blues. According to Mr. Lamby, he acquired this jersey personally while competing in the 1978 World Championships in Prague, Czechoslovakia.

This white knit gamer was most likely worn by Vladimir Nejedly in 1976-77 while skating for Sparta Prague. This vintage sweater is simply stunning, featuring vibrant red, yellow and blue stretchy trim on a creamy white body. Custom elastic bands have been stitched into both sides of the waist to provide a more snug fit at the hem. The drop shadowed familiar “S” crest, letters and numbers remain in wonderful condition. Light but obvious game wear exists on this sweater including nice even pilling all throughout the interior. Shown above is a beautiful photo of legendary Czech Goalie Jiri Holacek wearing this style Sparta Prague gamer in the mid 1970’s. A wonderful 40+ year old international gamer that was impeccably preserved while in the personal collection of NHL defenseman and USA Olympian, Dick Lamby.
