Description
1976-77 Rich Leduc WHA Cincinnati Stingers Game Worn Jersey - 50-Goal Season - 100-Point Season - All Star Season - WHA Hall of Famer
Lot #28
This vintage Cincinnati Stingers game worn jersey is being offered to the hobby for the very first time. Our consignor, an Ohio based Cincinnati Stingers fan, acquired it from the team back in the 1970’s and has kept it incredibly preserved for the past 40 years!

This road black dureen gamer by Rawlings was worn by Rich Leduc during the 1976-77 WHA season. The California Golden Seals selected Leduc in the 3rd round of the 1971 NHL Amateur Draft. This gifted scorer set the province of Quebec on fire during his junior days prior to starting his professional career with the AHL’s Boston Braves. Rich got his first taste of the NHL during the 1972-73 and 1973-74 seasons, which he spent with the Boston Bruins. The WHA came calling the following season and Leduc was all too happy to oblige. Over the next 5 years he carved out a Hall of Fame career in the WHA where he played for the Crusaders, Stingers, Racers and Nordiques. Leduc took part in another couple of NHL seasons after the collapse of the WHA and teamed on a line with Marc Tardif and Real Cloutier before retiring.

Rich eclipsed the 30-Goal mark in all five of his WHA seasons and set career best totals during his first season with the Stingers while wearing this very sweater in 1976-77. Leduc led the Stingers in scoring as he struck for 52-Goals and 107-Points, which were good for 4th and 7th best league wide and earned Rich a spot in the WHA All Star game.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the alternate Captain’s “A”. The game wear on this size 46 heavy dureen is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and heavy inner pilling. Leduc put forth one of the greatest statistical seasons in Ohio hockey history while wearing this sweater, a year that helped him cement his place as a future WHA Hall of Famer. This outstanding offering, complete with its coveted letter of honor, is fresh to our hobby after being cherished by our consignor for the past four decades, choice!
