1976-77 Norm Dube WHA Quebec Nordiques Game Worn Jersey - Avco Cup Season
Lot #57

This road blue mesh gamer was worn by Norm Dube during the 1976-77 Avco Cup winning season. The Los Angeles Kings selected Dube in the 7th round of the 1971 NHL Amateur Draft. Dube made his NHL debut in 1974-75 with the Kansas City Scouts where he played for parts of two seasons. The WHA came calling and in 1976-77 Dube joined the Quebec Nordiques and won the Avco Cup in his first season with the squad. Dube would play a total of three years with Quebec until the official collapse of the WHA following the 1978-79 season. One year later, Norm suited up for the AHL’s Nova Scotia Voyaguers and captured three prestigious awards for his efforts. He captured the Les Cunningham Award as league MVP, the John B. Sollenberger Trophy and the Fred T. Hunt Memorial Award, putting a cap on a 40-goal and 101-point season.

The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, inner pilling and a handful of team-sewn repairs. Dube wore this sweater at road games during Quebec’s Avco Cup winning season, which was the only major championship ever won by a Quebec team. Completely original well-worn example hailing from a Championship season!
