1976-77 Juhani Tamminen WHA Phoenix Roadrunners Game Worn Jersey
Lot #20

This road blue dureen gamer by Rawlings was worn by Juhani Tamminen during the 1976-77 WHA season. This native of Turku, Finland spent a number of seasons playing for Helsinki before making his WHA debut in 1975-76 with the Cleveland Crusaders. After one year with Cleveland, Tamminen played the following year with the Phoenix Roadrunners. Juhani returned to Finland to finish his career where he starred for TPS Turku for the next five seasons. Tamminen represented Team Finland in the 1976 Canada Cup and went into the coaching profession following his playing days, spending decades working his craft. Juhani was elected to the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame in 1991.

The game wear on this size 48 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, fine inner pilling and team-sewn repair work. Removed from the upper verso and lost to history is the player nameplate. Featuring one of the most beautiful crests of the era, this jersey still boasts tremendous eye appeal with striking colors abound. A tough to find beautiful 45-year-old example, worn by this Finnish Hockey Hall of Famer, choice!
