Description
1975-76 Bob Falkenberg WHA San Diego Mariners Game Worn Jersey
Lot #18

This road double knit gamer by Wilson was worn by Bob Falkenberg during the 1975-76 WHA season. This Alberta native made his NHL debut in 1966-67 with the Detroit Red Wings where he played for five seasons. In 1972, the WHA came calling and Bob became an inaugural member of the Alberta Oilers of the Rebel League. Falkenberg spent 6 years in the WHA, representing the Alberta and Edmonton Oilers as well as the San Diego Mariners, where he played in each of the team’s three seasons of existence.

Sewn to the right shoulder of this gamer is the circular San Diego Mariners patch. The game wear on this size 46 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, fine inner pilling and team-sewn repair work. The original name on back is also a treat most worthy of mention. This spectacular all-original example boasts still vibrant colors and would make a tremendous addition to any WHA collection, choice!
