1974-75 Ross Brooks Bruins Game Worn Jersey
Lot #40

This road black dureen gamer by Wilson was worn by goaltender Ross Brooks during the 1974-75 NHL season. Ross spent 3 seasons in goal for the Big Bad Bruins teams of the early to mid 1970’s following Gerry Cheevers’ departure to the WHA. His NHL success with Boston was highly impressive winning 37, losing only 7 and tying 6 while posting a miniscule 2.64 GAA. Unfortunately for Ross, his call to the NHL came at the late age of 36. After 3 impressive seasons, he was forced to retire right before his 40th birthday, as Boston legend Gerry Cheevers decided to return to the NHL.

The game wear on this dureen is rather impressive consisting of stick and puck marks, solid inner pilling and approximately 20 classic Bruins team-sewn repairs to the body and sleeves of this striking black dureen. As with many 1970’s Bruins dureens, the sides of the body have been taken in to provide a more snug fit. In addition, this jersey has been custom altered by having the v part of the neck sewn together. Donning Cheesey's # 30 only adds more appeal to this magnificent 3-decade old piece of Boston Bruins history. Bid accordingly.
