This road blue heavy knit gamer by Harval was worn by Perry Miller during the 1974-75 WHA season. Miller was a rough and tumble 6’ 1” defenceman who began his major league career in 1974-75 with the Winnipeg Jets while wearing this very shirt. After spending 3 seasons in the WHA, Miller jumped ship to sign with the Detroit Red Wings of the NHL. Perry would finish his career with a 4-year stint in the motor city that saw him rack up 387 PIMs in 217 games played.
Sewn into the collar of this gamer is the Harval manufacturer’s and size L tags. The game use consists of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, pilling, washed out bloodstains and un-repaired holes. This is a super tough knit style with sewn-on numbers that was placed into retirement following the 1974-75 campaign. The Jets then switched to a screened on mesh style that would be worn throughout the remainder of their WHA days. Just harken a look at the beautiful hand-sewn work on the crest, a reminder of the beauty that exists in these old-time hockey sweaters. A tough and beautiful style.
