Description
1974-75 Gary Bredin WHA Michigan Stags Game Worn Jersey
Lot #23
This road red dureen gamer by Wilson was worn by Gary Bredin during the 1974-75 WHA season. Bredin, a native of Edmonton, Alberta enjoyed a 7-year professional career that began in the CHL in 1969-70 where he played for Forth Worth for a couple of seasons. He spent a season with the Seattle Totems of the WHL and a couple with the Rochester Americans of the AHL before joining the WHA. Gary spent the 1974-75 WHA season with 3 teams, the Indianapolis Racers where he played for 10 games and then spent the remainder of the year with the Michigan Stags and later the Baltimore Blades after the Stags folded. Bredin played one more year in the WHA, spending 50 games with the San Diego Mariners and then 17 more for the ill-fated Denver Spurs and Ottawa Civics franchise.

The game wear on this striking size 50 dureen consists of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, heavy inner pilling and a team-sewn repair. The original garter style fight strap remains sewn beneath the back player number. A spectacular 40-year-old example from a team that existed for merely half a season in the WHA!
