1973-77 Dave Hynes/Gary Bredin/Clayton Pachal Rochester Americans Game Worn Jersey
Lot #418
This road red mesh gamer by Champion was worn circa the mid 1970’s during AHL play. The Amerks wore this style between the years of 1973-74 and 1976-77. Gary Bredin wore the player number in 1973-74. Dave Hynes wore it the following two seasons, 1974-75 and 1975-76, while Clayton Pachal wore it in 1976-77.

The Boston Bruins selected Dave Hynes in the 4th round of the 1971 NHL Amateur Draft. This Cambridge native played his college hockey at Harvard University and made his NHL debut in 1973-74 with the Bruins where he played for two seasons. Hynes also represented the WHA’s New England Whalers before completing a five-year AHL career in 1978.

Gary Bredin, an Edmonton native spent five seasons in the minors where he represented the Fort Worth Wings, Rochester Americans and Seattle Totems before suiting up for two seasons in the WHA. During that time, Bredin represented the Indianapolis Racers, Michigan Stags, Denver Spurs and the San Diego Mariners.

The Boston Bruins selected Pachal in the 1st round of the 1976 NHL Amateur Draft. This Yorkton native made his NHL debut in 1976-77 with the Bruins where he played for two seasons. Pachal finished up his NHL career spending a season with the Colorado Rockies.

The sleeves on this gamer have been shortened. The game wear on this size 46 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes, inner pilling and a handful of team-sewn repairs. Hynes was a dynamic scorer for the Amerks, netting 42 goals in 59 games in 1974-75 and then following it up with 37 goals in 63 games the following season. In Bredin’s lone season with the club he chipped in a healthy 26 goals and 50 points. Clayton Pachal was a rookie in 1976-77 and played in 70 games while amassing 150 PIMS. A tough vintage style that is now nearly 50 years removed from the AHL ice.
