1973-74 WHA New York Golden Blades Opening Game Spectacular Brochure

This New York Golden Blades advertising brochures highlights a preseason hockey spectacular as well as the first ever Golden Blades game played October 11, 1973 vs. the Chicago Cougars. The hockey spectacular, played September 25, 1973, pitted the Golden Blades against the Winnipeg Jets and the New England Whalers against the Houston Aeros in a preseason double header. The Golden Blades were in existence for only 24 games of the 1973-74 WHA Season. The league took over the Golden Blades after 24 games and moved them to New Jersey renaming them the Knights. The brochure is in very nice condition.
