This road blue dureen gamer by Maska was worn by Tom Martin during the 1973-74 WHA season. The Toronto Maple Leafs selected Martin with the 5th overall pick in the 1964 NHL Amateur Draft. This Toronto native made his brief NHL debut with the Leafs in 1967-68 before venturing on a 4-year minor league stint across the CHL and AHL. In 1972-73, the Rebel League came calling and Martin signed on with the Ottawa Nationals for the inaugural WHA season. He and his teammates journeyed from Ottawa to Toronto for the WHA’s 2nd season as the Nationals became the Toros amidst new ownership. Tom played for a couple of seasons in Toronto before heading to Europe to finish up his playing career. Following his playing days, this Toronto native actually spent a couple of successful years behind the bench as Head Coach of the Toronto Marlboros.
