Description
1973-74 Andre Gaudette WHA Quebec Nordiques Game Worn Jersey
Lot #36

This road blue dureen gamer by Maska was worn by Andre Gaudette during the 1973-74 NHL season. This Sherbrooke native played for the Quebec Aces for 3 of his 4 AHL seasons prior to joining the WHA in 1972-73. Gaudette was an original member of the Quebec Nordiques with whom he played all 3 of his WHA seasons. This 5’ 7” Center had scored nearly a point per game thru his first couple of WHA seasons before falling off dramatically in his last year. Andre’s best season was his first as he tallied 27 goals and added 44 assists for 71 points in 77 games played.

Worn during the WHA’s 2nd year of existence, the game wear on this vintage dureen consists of stick marks, board burns, an un-repaired hole, stitch popping and fine inner pilling. The heavily reinforced garter style fight strap with the old blue and white striping remains affixed just beneath the back player numbers. The original nameplate is a treat for collectors in the know. A beautiful offering from year 2 of the World Hockey Association.
