Description
1972-73 Terry Ball WHA Minnesota Fighting Saints Game Worn Jersey - Inaugural WHA Season
Lot #18
This road blue dureen gamer by General Athletic and Steichens was worn by Terry Ball during the inaugural WHA season of 1972-73. Ball began his NHL career with the expansion Philadelphia Flyers in 1967-68. After a couple of years with Philadelphia, Terry joined the Buffalo Sabres where he played for a couple more seasons before jumping to the newly formed WHA. Ball was an original member of the Minnesota Fighting Saints and spent 3 seasons with the team before moving on to Cleveland, Cincinnati and Birmingham.

Sewn into the collar of this gamer is the Steichens and size tag. Sewn into the hem is The General tag. The game wear on this size 48 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, plenty of board paint transfer, un-repaired holes, a few runs, inner pilling and some team-sewn repair work. A treat also worthy of mention is the all-original nameplate sewn above the rear player number. This fantastic first year dureen survived the inaugural WHA season intact, albeit with the battle scars of war abound. A tremendous example that would surely enhance any WHA or Minnesota collection of gamers, choice!
