Description
1972-73 Roger Cote WHA Alberta Oilers Game Worn Jersey - Inaugural WHA Season
Lot #53

This road orange knit gamer by Western Athletic Supply was worn by Roger Cote during the 1972-73 WHA season. Following a 13-year minor pro career, Cote joined the newly formed WHA in 1972-73 and became an original member of the Alberta-Edmonton Oilers franchise. Cote spent two seasons on the Oilers defense before playing one final year with the Indianapolis Racers.

Sewn perfectly into the hem of this gamer is the Western Athletic Supply manufacturers tag. The game wear on this 2nd set sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, stitch pops, inner pilling and a team-sewn repair. The hand-stitched detail of these vintage Oilers jerseys is certainly a treat to behold. A tremendous inaugural season WHA offering from the Oilers first year as a franchise and the only season that they went by the Alberta Oilers, choice!
