1971-73 Charlie Burns Minnesota North Stars Game Worn Jersey - The St. Paul, Minnesota Collection
Lot #35
This fresh to the hobby example is part of an exciting collection of newly discovered game worn hockey jerseys that were sourced from St. Paul, Minnesota. This collection is being offered to the hobby for the first time via the Fall 2015 Auction, exclusively at GAMEWORNAUCTIONS.NET.

This home white dureen gamer was worn by Charlie Burns circa the 1971-73 NHL seasons. Burns is a native of Detroit, MI who began his NHL career with the Red Wings in 1958-59. He became a member of the Bruins the following season and spent 4 years in Boston. In 1967, as the NHL expanded from their original 6 to 12 teams, Burns played for the Oakland Seals. He spent the 1968-69 season with the Pittsburgh Penguins and then found a home in Minnesota where he played from 1969-70 thru 1972-73. In fact, Burns was Minnesota’s player/head coach in 1969-70 and then coached the squad again in 1974-75 after his playing days were over.

Removed from the left breast of this gamer is the alternate Captain’s “A”. The game wear on this vintage dureen consists of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, inner pilling and a half-dozen team-sewn repairs. A terrific old school dureen that is part of the exciting St. Paul, Minnesota Collection and is completely fresh to the hobby, choice!
