1971-72 Willie Brossart Richmond Robins Game Worn Jersey
Lot #977

This road orange dureen gamer by General Athletic was worn circa the 1971-72 AHL season. We attribute this jersey to being worn by former NHL defenseman Willie Brossart. The Philadelphia Flyers selected Brossart in the 3rd round of the 1969 NHL Amateur Draft. He made his NHL debut with the Philadelphia Flyers in 1970-71 and spent 3 seasons with the team. Brossart played parts of 2 seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs before completing his NHL career with the Washington Capitals.

Sewn into the collar of this gamer is the manufacturers and size tagging. The game wear on this vintage size 50 dureen consists of stick marks board burns and nice inner pilling. The Richmond Robins were the Philadelphia Flyers AHL affiliate and in 1971-72 featured the likes of Rick MacLeish, Don Saleski, Dave Schultz (pictured above), Bill Clement and other Broad Street Bullies. This is an extremely rare style and we are pleased to say this is the first such example that we’ve had the pleasure of handling.
