1971-72 Bill White Chicago Blackhawks Game Worn Jersey 2nd Team NHL All Star All Star Season
Lot #4
This home white dureen gamer by Wilson was worn by Bill White during the 1971-72 NHL season. This Toronto native made his NHL debut in 1967-68 with the Los Angeles Kings where he skated for three seasons before joining the Chicago Blackhawks before the deadline in 1970. White spent 7 years representing the Blackhawks before retiring in 1976 to become the team’s Head Coach. This defenseman earned a hard-fought roster spot on Team Canada’s 1972 Summit Series squad. White played in 6 consecutive NHL All Star Games spanning 1969-74 and was a three-time 2nd Team NHL All Star who helped his Blackhawks to a pair of Stanley Cup Finals appearances over the course of three seasons in the early 1970’s.

The game wear on this vintage sweater is tremendous and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, trauma, plenty of exterior sleeve pilling, heavy inner pilling throughout and in excess of 40 team-sewn repairs! The Wilson and Gunzo’s collar tagging didn’t survive the rigors of the era while the outline over the square shoulder yolks remains evident. To this day, nary a handful of these highly coveted first year Wilson made Blackhawks gamers exist in the hobby. This hammered example was worn by White during an All Star season that also earned him his first of three consecutive 2nd Team NHL All Star selections, choice!
