Description
1970-71 Frank St. Marseille Blues Game Worn Jersey
Lot #31

This blue dureen gamer by Rawlings and Geisler-Jorgen was worn by Frank St. Marseille during the 1970-71 NHL season. St. Marseille broke in with the Blues during the expansion season of 1967-68. He would spend the first 6 years of a 10-year career in St. Louis, wrapping things up with 4+ seasons in Los Angeles. St. Marseille provided leadership to the newly formed team which surprisingly made 3 consecutive trips to the Stanley Cup Finals in their first 3 seasons of existence.

Fine game use exists in the form of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, inner pilling and more than a handful of classic Blues team-sewn repairs. Sewn to the inner hem is the Rawlings, Geisler-Jorgen and wash tagging. Removed from the left breast of this gamer is the alternate Captain’s “A”.

Following the 70-71 season this entire set of jerseys was sent down for reuse to a local high school club in the St. Louis area. This example is consistent with all of the others from this set that we have seen, having been shortened by no more than 2” in the hem area. Beautiful nearly 4 decade old dureen.
